Medical device manufacturers operate in one of the world’s most competitive and highly-regulated industries, where patient safety is critical. Product reliability and reputation hinge on compliance to standards, time-to-market and traceability. Mecmesin force & torque testing systems ensure traceable results with raw data retention, a robust audit trail, full operator security and guaranteed repeatability. Whether it is testing Luer fittings and syringe operation, drug delivery devices or sharps penetration, or anything from prosthetic joints to bone screws, Mecmesin testers guarantee you an easy-to-use, affordable solution.
Test to ASTM, BS EN, ISO, DIN, CEN, Ph. Eur. and USP

If you manufacture or supply medical devices or aids, you need accurate and reliable computer-controlled testing systems. Few mass-produced disposable items require as high reliability as we expect from medical devices. A cannula, a Luer lock, a tube connector, dermal patch, bone screw or guide wire, are representative of very simple items with very high specification, to which international test standards are applied. Mecmesin universal testers and torque testers are used to apply these tests accurately and with complete repeatability.
They have the versatility to be programmed for the full range of test types required. Mecmesin test equipment is also used in medical research for the design of prosthetics and aids, to apply expected forces and measure the product response. Mecmesin universal MultiTest systems can be programmed with the required standards you need for rapid and reliable testing, including sample tracing for audit trail.

Pharmaceutical preparations vary widely from creams and lotions to transdermal patches, tablets and capsules. Consistency is vital, so a texture analyser is recommended. Subjective standards for how each product is experienced can be translated into objective data to use in repeatable tests for quality acceptance. Mecmesin computer-controlled MultiTest systems provide an ideal solution.

If you manufacture or supply pharmaceutical and sterile packaging, you need accurate and reliable computer-controlled testing systems to apply industry standard test methods. The most stringent standards apply to pharmaceutical and sterile packaging. Designed for maximum seal but minimum peel, aseptic semi-rigid and flexible packaging must survive sterilization processes and retain total integrity to the point of use, and then be opened, often with surgical gloves, in a predictable and controlled way.
Equally, elastomeric vial closures and blister packs must perform reliably, as must any external packaging. Only accurate and repeatable testing to industry standard methods can ensure full compliance with quality standards. Mecmesin universal MultiTest systems can be programmed with the required standards for rapid and reliable testing, including sample tracing for audit trail. Pharmaceutical packaging also makes use of tamper-evident and child-proof closures (CRCs), for which a Mecmesin Vortex torque tester is ideal. Using the same software as for the MultiTest, its operation requires little additional training.

As well as needing to assess the effort required to move or turn something (ergonomic performance) force and torque measurement instruments can be used to assess physiological strength. Myometers such as the Mecmesin digital AFG Myometer are used to measure muscle strength and injury recovery by physiologists and sports trainers.
